"bastian, why don't you do what you dream?"
-The Neverending Story
I love to create.
Painting is a unique mode of creation—translating an idea into reality while being able to study the subject from many different perspectives simultaneously. Capturing images from my imagination into a viewable reality for others to experience is satisfying—and at times, necessary.
Growing up drawing, inventing and consistently creating, I refined my craft in school and graduated Cum Laude from the Savannah College of Art and Design with a BFA in painting.
Art school has a way of burning people out, and I was no different. After taking a hiatus from painting for several years, I have returned to the easel with excitement and inspiration… and plans to keep on keepin’ on.

Thoughts:
On The Female Form
Encouraging the liberation of female sexuality doesn’t equate to repetitive asserted depictions of female nudity.
Rather, that behavior quickly devolves into a transparently false claim of “freedom”— a declaration which thinly veils the underlying perpetuation of objectification (in this case, often from the self). Liberation can be defined as “the act or fact of gaining equal rights or full social or economic opportunities for a particular group.” Such a misunderstanding of liberation and a misrepresentation of respect towards an entire gender wholly undermines the attempted message of such depictions in the first place, further securing the entrenched historical credo that women’s existence serves its purpose through the gaze of others— first by men, then by society, and finally by women themselves.
